How Can We Help?
What is the difference between a rough opening and a finished opening?
- Rough opening is the clear opening before any trim or finish work is done
- Finished opening is the clear opening after all trim and finish work has been completed
What is a frame?
A frame (also called a jamb), is used to finish off a rough cut opening in the wall and make it into a finished opening.
Do I need a new frame for my project?
If you already have an existing steel or wood frame it can more than likely be reused. We would simply need to know the measurements of your existing door frame. If you don’t have one we can provide one with your swinging door.
What types of steel frames are offered?
Depending on your application we offer both paintable and stainless steel frames. For larger industrial projects we offer C-channel and self-supporting tubular frames with powder coat paint.

What are the benefits of purchasing a steel frame from Paylon?
Our steel frames (paintable or stainless steel) are designed to wrap the wall to alleviate trim work and they are pre-drilled and prepped for hinges (making the door installation much easier).
